I think showthreaded will be the last script I port over[]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/].

I dunno.. Show threaded was king on my old forum of 4,500+ registered users.
What ever you make default is what users tend to use for some reason.. and when you change it they all get mad.. hehe..
I think people like flat because of UBB being so popular, but not having any threaded views... so people are use to it or something.
Personally I hate reading the replies to my post all out of order and stuff... forget that.. threaded all the way baby!

I personally use showflat, if only because it's so much faster. If I want to know exactly which is a reply to which (if I can't figure it out, which I almost always can), I just tap that threaded button at the top, and click through the posts till I find the one I want. (At least w/o the numbered posts now...with those, it's a quick visual search for the original.)
Flat is for power-users. Fast, to the point, and if you want to know what it was in response to, do it yerself. []/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/] Threaded is for organizers. It takes more time, but makes more sense to them in the end.

flat is fine for me if the replies don't go deep and there isn't 100 replies to a post.
reading UBB or VBBS in flat mode is fine for me, it's built around flat mode.. but this forum is more centered around threaded replies, so reading it in flat mode isn't as obvious as it is when reading UBB (new posts never get mixed around in UBB, but they do in w3t)..
Also, the life of the threads I read is usually pretty long (has to be in order to get 100 replies eh?) there for you have already read half of the replies and you only need to read the new ones.. flat mode isn't good for that.. threaded mode let's you get in and out without worrying about what the other posts say...
I guess it just depends on the kind of forum you run and how much people like to talk in a single thread lol...

If show threaded is the last one to be ported then I'll port it. Long live SHOW THREADED!
